Acceptance Limerick

* This is a counterpoint to the post Rejection Haiku.

There once was an essay by me
That I sent to five journals times three.
Red Savina Review
Just made my dream come true.
Their acceptance has left me carefree!

"Turnpike Girl"
"Turnpike Girl" is me, circa 1964. It is also the title of the piece that will appear in the Fall 2015 issue of Red Savina Review, as well as the title of my memoir-in-progress. Please see Home, another excerpt from my memoir, if you would like to learn a bit about my life inside the apartment building in this photograph.

  1. Hey, congratulations to you!!! That is wonderful. Your persistence paid off!

And now I will apologize because I accidentally hit the wrong button when trying to post your comment. I need to stop multitasking while I'm at the computer. Could I bother you to post it again? Email me if you want me to send you the old message. I'm so annoyed with myself!

    Peace and Laughter!

  2. Thank you, Susan, I will be more present in the future!

    1. Thanks, Cristina. The "yes" means it's time to polish up another memoir excerpt and start courting the literary journals again. Eventually, I'll have the whole book done. Persistence!

Oh good, you have something to say. Do tell.
